The TMap test process has various phases with activities and sub activities. Some of these are interdependent: the output
of an activity is the input for another activity, resulting in multiple chains of activities (workflow). The activities in
a chain are executed by one or more persons in the test team. In the case of large test teams, managing the entire process
with the various activity chains is a complex task. A workflow tool can provide support. The workflow tool knows the
activities to be executed and ensures that the work is routed to the relevant persons. With the tool, the test manager has
continuous insight into the status of the activities to be executed, and is aware of the total work stock. The tool
generates an alert when plans are exceeded or work stocks become unusually high so that the test manager can
intervene.
